Regulation of eIF4E Pathway
PABPC1, an RNA binding protein, binds to 3'-poly(A) tail of eukaryotic mRNA and plays multiple roles in post-transcriptional regulation of various RNAs, such as mRNA. PABPC1 functions as a stabilizer of mRNA containing poly(A) tail by binding to the element, while that also contributes to efficient translation of mRNA by forming a closed-loop structure through eIF4F complex, composed of eIF4E, eIF4A and eIF4.
